Opportunity Snapshot

In this position you will leverage both your creativity and project management skills; you'll invest the largest portion of your time driving projects to performance and deadline expectations, but we'll also look to you to monitor the market, identify needs and opportunities, and develop new products to meet them. While other companies are "hunkering down" in this economy, Teacher Created Materials (TCM) has posted 30% growth in 2008, leveraging more than 30 years of success and a well-capitalized business plan. We've created an empowering culture that is informal but results oriented, in which ideas and initiative are valued.

In brief, you will evaluate and develop math and science manuscripts while consulting with authors on content, style, and format. We're hiring today with an eye to the future, looking for people with the potential to move up in our growing organization. To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have teaching experience as well as a solid understanding of how to teach math and science effectively to children in grades three through eight. You don't need to be a math or science expert, but you must understand the subjects well enough to evaluate manuscripts and supporting materials. Editorial or authoring experience is a plus.

Today a leading global publisher of educational materials, TCM was founded in 1977 by two classroom teachers looking to share their ideas and enthusiasm with their colleagues. We continue to outclass the competition in many parts of the world, publishing quality-research based educational books and materials in all curricular areas for teachers and students at all grade and skill levels. Privately and family owned since its conception, TCM is still run by teachers for teachers, and that will never change.
