What Else You'll Bring to the Table

In addition to the qualifications detailed above, you'll need:

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting; however, we also will consider candidates with a comparable combination of education and relevant experience.
• Strong skills in MS Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and "if" statements.
• Experience with mid to large tier ERP systems; familiarity with MAS90 is a strong plus.
• Experience with reporting software such as Crystal Reports is preferred.

More About Your Role

If you're a good fit for this position, you already know most of what this job entails. However, to be sure we're providing a complete picture, here are some details.

Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, you will join a team that also includes an Accounting Assistant. As Staff Accountant, you'll divide your time among diverse activities related to general financial accounting, sales reporting, and accounting administration. More specifically, your activities will include:

• Making periodic and adjusting journal entries.
• Running sales reports using InfoReveal.
• Running production reports using Crystal Reports and Excel.
• Handling monthly and quarterly sales tax returns.
• Producing commission statements.
• Reconciling bank accounts on a daily and monthly basis.
• Reconciling incoming (A/R) credit card transactions.
• Collecting, organizing, and reconciling credit card invoices (A/P) and coding the transactions.
• Authorizing and auditing expense reports, and administering user accounts, such as adding, deleting, and updating users.
• Creating an Excel report summarizing employee expenses from Expense eXpert.
• Creating childcare reimbursement statements.
• Verifying that A/P invoices are coded correctly.
• Reconciling accrued expenses, accrued wages, fixed assets, and bank accounts.
• Assisting in A/R collections of larger accounts.
• Verifying payment, audit, reconciliation, budget, and other information.
• Checking credit references for new vendors.
• Verifying our computer and laptop list is correct.

You also will collaborate with decision-makers in our various departments to provide financial and accounting insights.
